The bear is the largest predatory mammal in nature. It is a threatening, frightening, and aggressive figure.

However, in children's tales, the bear appears as a cute and charming character. (Goldilocks and the Three Bears, Winnie the Pooh) This gap makes the bear an interesting animal to humans.

I received inspiration for the sculpture from a grizzly bear figurine made by an artist on the west coast of the USA who creates bear sculptures from wood or stone.

My uncle bought the figurine while traveling with my parents in the USA, just a few hours before the accident in which my leg was amputated occurred.
